The Gym Rats Regional Camp is sponsored by Nike is for players currently in the 6th thru 9th grades. This camp is an
elite exposure camp for players interested in taking their game to the next level.
There will be 5 regional camps this year in Dallas, TX, Midland, MI, Greensboro, NC, and Chicago, IL. These camps
will feed into the National Rising Stars Camp on August 14-16, 2008 at Spiece Fieldhouse In Fort Wayne, IN.
This 2-day camp will feature Individual Station Drills and Guest Speakers in the morning of the first day to
promote individual improvement and a greater knowledge of the level of intensity needed to play at a high level. Players will then be put into teams and every player will play 5 games between Saturday and Sunday.
Each player’s picture and profile will be posted on the camp website. Each player will receive a personalized
written evaluation regarding their performance at the camp. Players will also receive a Nike T-shirt and a
Nike Jersey.
The evaluations will be performed by Van Coleman one of the USA’s most noted talent evaluators. Van
Coleman will attend all regional camps and perform the evaluation for each player at each camp. Mr. Coleman
is the host for www.hoopmasters.com and basketball editor for www.CSTV.com.
The Elite Gym Rats National Rising Stars Camp, which will take place August 14-16, will only take 50
players per grade nationally, so instruction and teaching can be done on an individual level. We are pleased
to announce that Al Rhodes will be our Camp Director. Coach Rhodes is one of the most recognized high
school coaches in the nation, having won an Indiana State Basketball Championship, coached several Division
1 and professional players and is known as one of the leading clinicians in teaching skills and development of
basketball players in elite camps.
