Coach Larkins joined Joy of the Game in the fall of 2010, where he has been coaching kindergarten through 8th graders. Coach Larkins’ coaching experience extends several years prior to coming to Joy of The Game, including mostly with the city of Highwood, where he played when he was younger. Coach Larkins attended Highland Park High School where he played basketball for two years before graduating from Roosevelt University. Coach Larkins’ passion for sports extends beyond the basketball court as he trains year around as a competetive long distance runner, priming himself for half-marathons, which has helped him pick up life skills that he brings to the basketball court. His passion and enthusiasm for working with youth makes him a coach whom is respected and liked by players and their families. Coach Larkins is innovative in his approach to ensure that younger kids understand basic basketball skills as well as have fun.
