RISING STARs

Rising Stars Basketball Club

"Shooting for the Future"

RISING STARS BASKETBALL CLUB is well into its 13th year, training basketball players. During previous years, many boys and girls developed as basketball players and as people through their involvement in one, two, or all three of the RISING STARS sessions. Some children experienced playing in AAU and Prairie State Tournaments. We have taken numerous teams to AAU National Tournaments and often placed at or near the top. In 2005, the Rising Stars won three State AAU Championships and set a record with twelve National AAU Qualifiers. The building blocks of these successes are the RISING STARS training sessions. Many RISING STARS alumni are now playing on their high school Varsity teams. In numerous cases, these players are playing Varsity as Freshmen or Sophomores. Many other Club members are having highly successful careers including college and professional levels of play. The Rising Stars sessions are the steps needed for boys and girls who want to become the best players possible. Come join the fun and excitement!

RISING STARS is the basketball club for basketball players who want to play at an advanced level. This is not a basic skills program. Players who join Rising Stars should already have skills and a basic understanding of the game.

RISING STARS prides itself on offering the highest level of training for boys and girls who want to excel at the game of basketball. Programs are for boys and girls in Fourth grade through Senior year in high school.

AAU

RISING STARS TOURNAMENT TEAMS

(3rd through 8th) (Boys and Girls)

*All team members must join the Spring season club.

Tournament teams give the players an extra advantage of playing high level team basketball against the best teams and players not only from our state but all over the country. In addition to their Spring club season of satellite practice and game night, team members will either have a tournament or practice on the weekends. We compete in State AAU, National Tournaments and other top tournaments around the country.

Rising Stars has become the biggest team program in the Mid-West, well known for its strong discipline, high skill level and preparation. We have received many compliments on how we play, and that we are a class act organization. We pride ourselves on bringing the best out of our players, coaches, parents, and those who compete against us and surround us.

RISING STARS HIGH SCHOOL TOURNAMENT TEAMS (Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) (Boys and Girls)

We will be forming teams in March, after the high school season concludes. We will make teams for all levels. In most cases, we will have multiple teams at each level. This gives the High School player the opportunity to compete against the best talent not only in the state but from many other states and around the nation.  Players will compete in State AAU, National Tournaments and other tournaments where our players will receive exposure to college coaches. Players will receive the brand new JG Rising Star uniform. Many of our players have used these experiences not only to improve their play, but to get high exposure to further their college expectation of playing basketball.

Tournaments are on the weekends in the months of April, May, June and July.

RISING STARS SPRING SESSION

(3rd through 8th grade Boys and Girls)

Club members will work on individual and team skills. Members will pick a satellite night; in this satellite players will train at a high level for their hour and a half work out. These sessions will first focus on individual skills (shooting, one-on-one moves, ball handling, post play, conditioning, footwork). Second, they will work on team skills (man-to-man defense, close outs, help-side and rotation, denials and lock-up). Offensive team skills will consist of screens, set-ups, cuts, floor balance, reading your defender, reading your team mates). Utilizing these skills will enable players to be successful. All members from the different satellites will come together and compete in the Friday Night Game Night! Players will work for twenty five minutes on team skills and situations (man-to-man offense and defense, pressure, traps, zones). The players then will compete in real games with coaches and high school certified officials. This night will focus on being a basketball heaven:

1. TEACHING 2. WORKING 3. PLAYING 4. LEARNING 5. COMPETING

There will also be special guest, special competitions with prizes and other special planned events.
